Fully restored 1968 Go Tag Along camper “Birdie”
Due to our children continuously deciding to grow, we must have “Birdie” fly the coop and join another flock. This vintage beauty has been lovingly and painfully restored in the hot, Alabama summer sun.
Our family faithfully pulled this gem with our V6 SUV as she is less than 2,000 lbs. But, don’t let her light weight fool you. She is packed full of charm. “Birdie” would be perfect for a couple looking to impress their campsite neighbors with a great conversation starter. Or, have her sit in your driveway and make your neighbors jealous. Either way, you are bound to look good to someone.
Though “Birdie” is old, she enjoys modern day comforts of an A/C, a microwave, mini refrigerator, and a television.
The propane three burner stove-top and sink will cook all of your delicious meals if you are too lazy to start a fire and cook.
A twin-sized mattress is in one sleeping area, and the bench on the other side can be used for another sleeping or sitting area. There is so much storage in this little lady that you could even hide out in her if there was a zombie apocalypse.
The chalkboard door can be used to introduce yourself to your site neighbors or cure boredom if it is raining. My children have mastered tic-tac-toe due to an especially rainy season last year.
Extra perks: new exterior paint, new authentic handles, two new keys, new cabinet knobs, and fresh interior paint have all been added. There is some slight water damage, from previous leaks, by the main sleeping area but that has been fixed. I should know as I conquered my fear of heights by climbing on the roof of “Birdie” and sealing her up. Oh, that reminds me that she can support weight very well!
Sadly, there is no bathroom. She is tiny. You could get a port-a-potty and store it in all of the new storage space that I built. Or, you could walk 10 feet to the bathroom at the RV site.
All exterior and interior paint, propane tank, curtains, pillows, and love will be given with “Birdie”. We were given a transfer of ownership paper with the bill of sale and registration papers with the DMV. The license plate is installed and all will be given to the purchaser.
Due to an upcoming move, all serious offers will be considered.
